What people say about Fork

Reviews generally describe Fork positively as a restaurant that provides elegant yet friendly service with seasonal ingredients guiding the dinner. Fresh fish, homemade pasta, vegetables, and seafood items are often noted positively, and those who have been going to this restaurant for some time know that its menu changes and does not rely on nostalgia. Some people think that it is rather pricey for an informal dinner place, and since dishes vary according to the season, one cannot always order his/her old favorite.

Restaurant overview

About Fork

For the past two decades, Fork Restaurant has been feeding Old City and catering to contemporary American cuisine based on Mid-Atlantic produce. The kitchen takes full advantage of its proximity to the seasonally available products as well as fresh fish and regional vendors while not making the menu look like a history course.

The current dinner menu includes crudo, salads, vegetable courses, handmade pasta, and hearty entrées such as striped bass, scallops, pork chop, and ribeye steak. The menu is varied enough for a full meal yet concise enough to keep the focus on the seasonality.

While there are a lot of restaurants in Old City catering to tourists, Fork is intended to be a restaurant by itself and not a means to any end. The dining room is sophisticated enough but not too formal for a special occasion like an anniversary, a business dinner, or a well-planned evening.

Those who want farm-to-table or contemporary American cuisine in Philadelphia will appreciate both concepts implemented by Fork: local ingredients, frequent menu changes, and individual ingredients recognizable in dishes.
